Southport, MB – October 28, 2016 – The Board of Directors of Southern Health-Santé Sud announced today that CEO Kathy McPhail will be retiring from Southern Health-Santé Sud effective April 28, 2017.

Her insight, consultative approach and commitment to all that is Southern Health-Santé Sud were integral to the successful health authority merger in 2012 and the years following”, says Guy Lévesque, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Southern Health-Santé Sud. “Kathy has also been instrumental in setting a vision for the future that will allow Southern Health-Santé Sud to thrive beyond her tenure. Unwaveringly, her personal qualities remained aligned and true to the organization’s foundational core values of integrity, compassion, excellence and respect.”
Lévesque adds that Kathy’s health equity lens and her drive to seek and build partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders, communities, physicians, staff and provincial/national entities leaves Southern Health-Santé Sud with a very rich legacy promising continued collaboration. Kathy McPhail will retire after almost 45 years of employment in a variety of positions within the health system, 10 years as a CEO. Wishing her health and happiness in her well-deserved retirement, the Region would like to express its utmost appreciation for her dedicated years to the health care industry and the Southern Health-Santé Sud community.
