The SH-SS Pharmacy would like to invite everyone to the below event on December 10th, 2024, 1400-1500.  It is a presentation on “New Updates in the Management of Acetaminophen Critical Overdose”

Presenter: Katie Lewis BScPharm, ACPR & Rizwan Ahmed BScPharm, MBA, CHE

Objectives:

  • Discuss the pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical presentation, prognosis, and assessment of a patient with acetaminophen toxicity
  • Discuss treatment of critical acetaminophen toxicity, focusing on the antidote N-acetylcysteine
  • Review the new SHSS Acetaminophen Overdose Treatment Standard Order set
  • Discuss strategies to minimize risk in the era of different N-acetylcysteine protocols
