About the Workshop
The ‘Leadership for Today’s Nurse’ Workshop is intended as an interactive learning experience aimed to promote self-development and leadership skills for all nurses. A ‘passport’ will be provided to acknowledge your leadership journey.
Day 1 Topics
Self-Empowerment: The Leader in You
This session will set the nursing leadership stage. We will explore the impact of empowerment on effective workplaces with a focus on self-empowerment. Discover how your personal style can positively influence your work environment and relationships with others.
Team Building: Working Effectively with Others
Learn the most effective ways to work with different personal styles. We will also explore the components and mechanics of an effective team, as well as your personal leadership style.
Day 2 Topics
Conflict Management: Strategies for Resolution
Conflict is a normal and common part of human relationships and group process but is often uncomfortable and avoided. In this session, we will explore ways to moderate interpersonal and group conflict in an effective way to promote positive workplace dynamics and outcomes.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: What, Why and How?
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are crucial for nurses to make autonomous and group decisions in today’s health care environments. In the final session, we will explore frameworks and practical tools to support critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in practice.

Open to all nurses in the region.

- Please bring your own lunch/snacks/refreshments with you.
- Participants need to attend BOTH days to be credited for this workshop.
- Registration is limited and will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
