Southern Health-Santé Sud recognizes the importance of working with communities to develop emergency plans, this with a focus to minimize risks in managing disasters. In doing so, we encourage communities and Municipal Emergency Coordinators to connect with the Managers in their area to discuss how we can partner in planning.
Municipalities expressing interest to work with Southern Health-Santé Sud regarding their community emergency planning will be invited to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the region. The MOU agreement ensures that all parties share common understanding and goals regarding your community’s emergency preparedness planning.
While disaster management planning does not eliminate threats, we are committed to working with communities to help decrease the effects of disasters. Emergency response plans are regularly updated and practiced in Southern Health-Santé Sud sites so that staff are prepared to deal with a real-life disaster.
The first step is to speak with the Manager in your area so that the process can begin. We look forward to partnering with you.
