Change to Referral Process to Alternative Isolation Accommodations (AIA)
There is now a different process for referring individuals experiencing homelessness to an AIA.
Main Street Project handles the referrals to the shelter isolation site. Use this form to refer to individuals to this site.
Please note, the shelter style AIA does not take children. People with children are to be referred to the other AIA using this form that is then emailed.
- The shelter style AIA takes individuals experiencing homelessness that are suspect cases, close contacts and positive COVID-19 cases.
- The other AIA does not take suspect cases and only takes close contacts and positive COVID-19 cases. If you have someone who is a suspect case with a child, the AIA won't take them unless they are a close contact of a positive case or until they receive their positive test result.
- The AIA Intake Coordinator makes each decision on a case-by-case basis, therefore, if you have a woman and her child and felt strongly that they needed to isolate and had no way to do that in the community, they may consider it even though it is not the policy.
For any questions, please contact Jolene Dayholos at 204-428-2733, 204-712-6009 or email.
Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) review the above information and share accordingly.
