COVID Alert App - Information for Health Care Workers
The Health Canada COVID Alert app is now available to Manitoba residents and provides digital COVID-19 exposure alerts once the app is downloaded to a smart phone. COVID Alert helps break the cycle of infection by letting people know of possible exposures before any symptoms appear.
The app is one more tool that people can use to be aware of a possible exposure to COVID-19. The app uses Bluetooth technology to detect when users are near each other. If a user tests positive for COVID-19, they can choose to let other users know about potential exposure risk without sharing any personal information.
Health Care workers are encouraged to download and enable the alert on their personal or work-issued device. Information about the app, specific to Health Care Workers is available in this memo.
