COVID-19 Eye Protection Reminder
This is a reminder that all Southern Health-Santé Sud (SH-SS) staff are required to wear regionally/provincially approved COVID-19 eye protection as part of their COVID-19 personal protective equipment (PPE). Please refer to the SH-SS Health Provider Site (HPS) for all the resources related to PPE including:
- COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Zone Directions for PPE requirements
- SH-SS Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) information for regionally approved PPE
Staff wearing eye protection other than those that are regionally/provincially approved are considered at risk of COVID-19 exposure and may be placed off work for a period of self-isolation. Provincial Occupational/Environmental Safety & Health (OESH) and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) have directed that the eye protection called ‘Stoggles’ and ‘Foggles’ are examples of eye protection that are not approved for use by health care workers.
Any staff experiencing challenges with regionally/provincially approved eye protection are encouraged to submit a Product Vendor Complaint Form for formal follow up.
Leads/Directors (or delegates) share with all staff.
