All requests for research are reviewed and approved by designates from the Quality, Planning & Performance team in Southern Health-Santé Sud. Research involving human subjects must receive approval from the Human Research Ethics Board at the University of Manitoba or the local National Research Council Ethics Board – this to conform with the standards of the Tri-Council Policy Statement for Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans and in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) of Manitoba, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) of Manitoba and, as applicable, the Mental Health Act.
To submit your request for research, please complete the following:
- Southern Health-Santé Sud application form
- a copy of your current, valid Research Ethics Board (REB) approval
- a copy of approval letter from the Provincial Health Research Privacy Committee (PHRPC)
- participant information
- participant consent form
- other relevant documentation supporting your research study
Please allow a minimum of four weeks for your application to be processed.
